Sir good day.

1g is 1foot of water.
If i going to a depth 300m, im going to use a 984g jigging lure? Im right sir?
im just confuse, im newbie
WOW. I can see I have so much to learn about jigging and proper selection of jigs. If you don’t mind, can I ask a few questions and maybe get a recommendation for a jig pack from you. I fish off the West Coast of Florida, from Fort Myers to the Tampa Bay skyway bridge. Most of the fishing is in depths of 60 to 100 feet. I like to fish for Snapper, grouper, yellowtails as well as cobia, amberjack, trigger fish and the occasional flounder that may be out there . As you can see, it is not deep and I try to stay within 30 miles of the coast. I would usually not go out if we have anything over 4ft seas and like my very calm days. So, most of the time, I do not have a strong wind current and will be dealing with water currents. I understand about SOG and appreciate the fact that you hit on that topic so clearly. What 12 jigs would you recommend to a beginning and how would you advised me to approach it? I have been watching the videos for days now and find it very interesting and a way not to have to use a lot of live bait. Thanks again. Tom
Started using 30-60g jigs here in FL on the inshore reefs. Even in 100ft of water its deadly. When the bite slows going lighter is a good way to keep ncie fish biting.
Amazing!!
Thanks!!
Thanks Chris. A compreensive 101 in jigging. For people like me who are just starting out, you really nailed it. Cheers
Look at all them flatty’s!
Excellent training. Thank you
Thank you. This is helpful
Exactly the video I needed to guide me to select the proper jigs for S. California fishing…thanks.
Thank you Chris, your speech AMAZING….it was my first time when I understood many aspects about jigs…..I will try to visit your store.

Johnny Jigs is the best and always eager to provide advice. I love calling them and getting Johnny answering the phone!
swivel or solid ring?
excellent video, excellent information, great work ,
The music hurts my ear, thank for trying, also can we have video about colors?
Why do I feel like this video could of been reduced to 2 min
Can you tell when you have a stronger current in the bottom 1/3rd than you do in the upper 1/3? And if so, how do you know? Seems to me that in this condition, we most likely have an unknown bow in our line near the bottom. Which is maybe why we have days that should be, seem to be good weather days but don’t produce numbers of fish? We don’t know our jigs aren’t acting like we think they are. On a side note, I spent 29 years trolling Salmon/Trout on Lake Michigan. For this we used a Fish Hawk X4 (or similiar) that told us the exact speed our lures were at depth and what speed our boats SOG is, along with our locators. We could then exactly determine what the current speed and direction was in that area on that given day and adjust our actual lure speed into the optimum range. I can see how an X4 would possibly be of benefit to hard core slow pitch jigging crowd. Yet, I’ve never seen speed and temp gauges being used anywhere in salt water.
Great info, thanks
when would you use jigs over 200g?
Yes mabuhay
Johnny, u got excited talking about Chick-fil-A
When you talk of water speed over bottom, how are you determining the current speed below you in say 200-400 feet? Especially if its at a differnet speed than that at the surface?
!5 inute speech to say 3 things,….scheesh
Thanks for the info. But I think it’s more practical to use 1g : 1m instead of 1g : 1ft.
Thanks Chris, the best selection video.
What jigs do you guys recommend for NorthEast waters? We’re talking Pollock, Haddock, Cod, Stripers, Blues, and Ling.. Pretty much all bottom dwellers except for the Stripers and Blues.. Mackerel are blueish and bunkers kinda go gold to brown. Both are baitfish for our bottomfeeders depending on the time of year. Would you recommend matching the color of the jigs to the baitfish in the area?
1 gram per foot or per metre?
Great shop. Had the pleasure of visiting them. Super helpful
Thank you very much. I’m new to jigging & I learned a lot. 👌
Where you guys are located?? Thanks
diameter of line/braid also affects a lot the capacity of the jig to reach the bottom in current condition
I want to catch a dhufish what jig should I use
Mine come today – I am on San Diego fleet all summer – can’t wait to try them. A video of putting on the hooks – assist-hooks – and leaders especially for the Pelagics – would be great to see too!
Really cool video! Just trying to get started.
I just saw the video you did here in San Diego. I have a penn 25n2 with a Penn slow pitch jigging reel. Plan on fishing around 100 feet water for local rockfish and possible lingcod and sheepshead. What color and set up do you recommend? There are few people here doing this but it is catching on. Keep up the cool videos.
Thanks Johnny. Best video I’ve seen on SP Jigging. Your 12 pack of jigs is awesome. Thanks for making it easy on us new guys getting into jigging. Much appreciated.
Whats the difference from knife jig and a torpedo jig
Which one would you recommend if I’m casting for grouper off a bridge?
perfect !
Very nice jig cant I get one…. New subscriber.
I like to keep the fish guessing, sometimes I hold onto the jig and throw my rod and reel in. 👍
Awesome info. Always learning. Thanks a lot!
Sir shore jigging the best jigg bit which is the best and also mud water and medium clear water what kinds using better
How to avail your jig sir,?
How come some people say 1gr/ft some say 1gr/meter . Not sure who is more accurate?
Great explanation! Thank you
The music drove me crazy
Love the video, couldn’t stop watching.
You own a shop that sells jigs and make an example of people asking what jig to use for a certain species?? yea lets make fun of those starting out because you are a pro..
