There are only three companies that make the PVDF resin. Seaguar is the only company that makes it’s own resin and extrudes their own line from it. Every other manufacturer buys their resin from the other two manufacturers. Just little extra info about Flouro for the people.
Yozuri at academy for 9.99 has become my go to. It works!!! I use 7 lb FC for drop shoting. And can change it without breaking the bank. And I won 20+ tournaments in the last three years on cheap line 😊
This year i finally fully switched to Braid and using Seagur STS flouro for my leads (4lb, 6lb, 8lb, 10lb). Dont think i will ever go back to using mono or flouro for a whole spool.
Floro is a con. Tests show its less abrasion resistant. Tests show it loses its invisibility after a serious pull. Just a con to steal more of our money.
Nobody needs cheap flourocarbon.
Nope
Can’t go wrong with Red Label if you’re looking to save a few $$ !
Fair enough. Makes sense having a lesser quality fluro, for less demanding applications.
I use Tatsu for close quarters pitching . . . I’ll put on 40 yards at a time (I back the reel 1st) and so I’ll get 5 spool-ups out of a 200 yard spool.
I also un-spool the line after a trip and run it through a small piece of cloth saturated with Line & lure Conditioner, then spool it back on the same way.
This makes the Tatsu last even longer . . . . I fish pretty often, and 1 spool of Tatsu will last me about a season & a half . . . makes it a bit easier to stomach the price.
Takes a few extra minutes to do this . . . but it’s really nice having such a premium line when we spend so much money on everything else . . . after all, the line is where the hustle meets the muscle.
I just bought seaguar red label today and I fucking hate it already. It backlashes every freaking cast on my Tatula. I’ve never ever had this problem with line before.
Good Stuff!
So I need two rods set up with Flouro for the annual deep creek spotted sea trout fishing that last about two months , these fish move into fresh water from the sounds and bays and are very finicky, strike very light and are heavy pressured. they sit on the bottom 14-24 feet in current , throw 1/8 swim baits and ned rigs . these fish range from 2-8 lbs. i can’t find a flouro line that wont bird nest , or pop anywhere a long the line when snagged. i’m using spinning gear 2000/3000 size , what type would you recommend?
Whether budget or high cost, I found that when using fluoro I had to change out my line often to avoid breakoffs. My line weakened significantly after hookups or snags (line stretching). The permanent line damage led me to return to fishing either straight mono or braid to leader.
I run red label or seaguar basix but on my spinning reel I do have the sniper. They had a sale on academy so I got 10lb for 10$ lol… had to cause the 30$ was to much for me even tho I heard great things lol
Just found your channel, Awesome info!
I like Vicious Pro elite up to 17 .Red label is on up to 10 lb. If you stretch flurocarbon with a deep diver or something fairly heavy it usually behaves better. 17 lb and 20 lb usually use Tatsu
I use Fluorocarbon line for a leader about 24′ to 36′ long and Trilene Big Game mono or with a mid priced braid.
P-Line Ultimate fluoro is certainly in the mix on the budget side. Assassin is more sensitive and durable than Sniper…and feel Assassin 12# it’s superior than Sniper 12# noticeably. Tatsu is the creme de la creme for sure and likewise use it for leaders only. It’s worth noting that I use 12# Assassin for 10XD and Big M 7.5 deep cranking and have never had issues. Great video…always like the hear different perspectives on fishing lines.
Tried FC SNIPER 7 LB, PULLED strength
Was 4 lbs .I never put it on my reel sold it on eBay to get some money back PU.
My experimenting with Red label is it really doesn’t sink. It only partly sinks. Invizx sinks totally. Also for budget I started using Berkley vanish.
anyone remember Shakespeare cheapo fishing line? used it as a kid in Florida… caught tons of fish of all types… Not so sure these lines aren’t designed to catch the fisherman more than fish..
I run 10lb Invisx on my 2500 TatulaD-XH LT MQ.
It is a spinning reel and I’ve never had an issue running straight fluro.
Yo zuri hybrid is the absolute best
Fluoro is a scam
Hello Hella, great content. I would love to send you a free hat or shirt from Kane Fishing Gear. I am a wounded veteran helping other wounded veterans through fishing. Please let me know, it would be my honor to send you something.
P.S. I also grew up in Detroit, miss fishing Lake St. Clair……
I don’t go fishin’ without Berkeley trilene !! 10# caught me a 9 and 1/2 pounder !
Some stretch can be great indeed. I’ve seen a hook almost tear through a Bass’s mouth because it was a monster and braid doesn’t stretch!😱.
I’ve used all the higher end Japanese made fluorocarbon with great results but I never pay retail, I hunt for bargains on feebay!!!
Top 3 floro lines 100% are:
Seaguar Tatsu 12lb
Fc sun sniper 14lb
Seaguar invizex 15lb
Use as leaders tied to 20lb power pro low viz green braid and trust me please, you will never use anything else for landing quality hogs! Tight lines today!!
Bass Pro Shops Excell fluorocarbon is made my Segar and is $10
I’m am just an average dude but my biggest PB large has come using Sunline FC. Don’t know why, i use Copoly and Mono for moving baits in darker color rivers and caught good Smallies cause the they keep my bait higher too. Jig’s , finesse and T rigs type stuff seem to catch more with a Pline 100% Flouro , and FC Sniper. Invisex usually loses memory faster for me.
QUIT holding the line and flapping your wings all over the screen. How the hell are we supposed to see what you’re holding ?
Seaguar red label is great line. Also their abrazx is great as well.
My mom bought me a 900 yard spool of 4lb blue mono at a random dollar store when I was 14. I am 38 years old now and still have a bunch of the line. I spooled it up a few years ago on a ultralight rod and it is still like new. I used other lines between now and then of course, and prefer braid. But it has lasted me the majority of my life. Point is, if you take care of your line and store it properly, it can last a hell of a long time. It’s still my go to for light leader material.
I’m braid to fluoro leaders on almost everything expect crankbait full fluoro and Frog straight braid
Samuri is pretty good. I still use mono and barely have any issues
IDUBBZ OUTRO lol
*Never fish Fluoro on Spinning Reels >>>>> **https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtYTMa7C2v4*
My go to is Trilene xl 14 pound in green
The best Fluro I have ever used is the one I get from my neighbors bass boat at 2 am.
What’s the benefit of Tatsu as a leader line over cheaper lines? I mean, with just a few feet of leader you don’t have to deal with memory, and I’m not sure if there’s much of an impact regarding sensitivity. Can you please clarify?
Trilene 100% flurocarbon once a year at Bass Pro Shops buy one get one half price . Thats the only time that I buy fluro . I really like Berkley sensation I exclusively use that in place of mono.
P line CXX is super strong and low stretch compared to other co polymers . But it has more memory than fluorocarbon. Great for flipping but I can’t cast a small crank without back lashing . Seagar red label works great for me for most applications.
Walmart. Berkley Vanish. That’s all you need. It does everything you want.
Just don’t use Berkeley vanish.
Lol just bought Sunline shooter 🤪
Still experimenting with flouro , haven’t found one I really like yet
I agree with almost everything you said other than a comment you made at the beginning; when I switched from mono to floro in 2013, my catch rate for bass in clear water doubled, and even tripled in some cases. The only use I have anymore for mono is treble hooked topwater baits and backer. It’s worth it for someone to switch from mono to a lower end floro. Huge difference.
I use invisx for alsmot everything, red label and the newer white label seguar are great for the price.
I used so many fluros…I think the best value is Sniper for anything you lean on them. Assassin for other mainly because you get more per spool. Seaguar is good but I think sunline is slightly better
Fluorocarbon is the biggest marketing scam ever. Mono is so much better and if I want sensitivity, I’ll just use powerpro. Some youtuber even did a line test and seaguar came out performing the worst. It’s basically shitty line in fancy packaging yet people go nuts for it cause it’s supposed to be "premium"
J
Trilene Biggame Monofilament ! Spool that up and go catch them end of story
Yes, as you said try to buy on sale. I also find myself buying the larger yardage spools especially when I use it on different reels or tend to go through a lot of certain size. 😂. Thanks for the tips!
