something about talking about your grandfather , fishing with warms with a Zebco 33 that’s just so American and special. It’s weird I cant think of any other reel that can invoke that type of nostalgia.

Me and my friends recently did a push button reel only challenge for bass at my grandpas pond. It was the greatest experience of my life. I hadn’t used that rod since I was 5 and it still worked just as good. My grandpa and I used to always fish for bream at the family reunions. I used to be afraid of picking the fish up because they were prickly. We used crickets instead of worms and he would catch them by hand in the grass. He was the best fishing buddy ever.

I brought this salmon fishing up in Oswego, NY. I coupled it with a Cabela’s Whuppin Stick. I had no problem pulling in a 14lb salmon. I will probably use this for surf fishing this summer and downgrade to a 3500 series Battle II next salmon season to save my wrists. All of the operations are butter smooth and the bail is nice and thick and has a solid flip to it. Everything about this reel is sturdy and strong. The drag system held up to the salmon and was also super smooth. I did use a scale to set the drag properly before going out to the river and this worked out tremendously. A bunch of other guys on the river would hook up and snap almost immediately. Just because you have a good drag system doesn’t do anything if you don’t set it correctly.

I use a zebco for bluegill because I dont have a light fishing setup and it works

I was thinking about subbing but decided I’d wait and see how you put the worm on
Cut it into a few pieces it’ll live and grow into more worms if you don’t use it for bait
And what you do use don’t just hook it once them tag ends is just giving the fish a free meal
I get a box of 12 worms and it’ll last me over a month catching 20 fish each week
As of yesterday I caught my first crawdad on a hook and threw him in a container as a pet
